The BIG 0-4

Fun with Friends at her 4-year-old Gymnastics Birthday Party!

I Guess I'm a Soccer Mom...

Grandma and Grandpa were in town to see E in action for her first soccer class of the season. She's become so much more at ease with the sport and the whistles are now just part of the game, instead of bringing her to her knees in a puddle of tears. This non-competitive soccer organization is great, with enthusiastic coaches that really want to see the kids learn and succeed. It's not only setting these kids up with skills, but good sportsmanship that will absolutely benefit them in life.

PS Thanks for the new soccer cleats Grandma and Grandpa, they'll make a huge difference once those rainy muddy practices start...

Aquarium Day

Our annual pass is running out and it seemed like a good fall day to head downtown with Grandpa, Uncle Keith and Mabel for a trip to the Seattle Aquarium.

Kung Fu Panda

Took E to Kung Fu Panda this evening for movie night. It stretched our comfort levels a tad being PG, but on the whole had a fun time at our $3 theatre.

M.t.M.o.I. (part 2)

So with a little bit of whining from D, I decided to re-post my photo's from the last entry. I agree the others didn't show off the color of summer. And in fact only hearken to the gray days we are all awaiting with reservation. So, here's the much sunnier color versions + an extra-sunny one :

Sunset with Rain Clouds

We scuttled down to the beach to catch the sunset. The watercolor sky was brushed with a handful of rainclouds and dotted with seagulls; it was quite a site.

Making the Most of It

September's halfway done and yet we're blessed with these last few warm days before the ominous rains and gray come (6 days and counting...). What to do?

Beach! While the two kiddos scuttled about the beach Eileen and I settled in for a long chat, interrupted only to fill bellies, or slather with sunscreen; perfect.

The Many Facess of E.A.B.

E's taken to making faces when I try and capture her in photo's. I noticed this a few weeks back, and it's pretty funny. This little series was taken by Rochelle while we were at the fair and I think it's quite an accomplishment that she was able to (unprovoked) contort her face into so many different poses in shots that are only separated by a few seconds!

How Much is that Doggie in the Window?

So, we're in the market for a dog. Preferably a Labrador, and preferably a girl, and preferably one that's 1-2 years old and up for adoption (not too crazy about the puppy years, as cute as they are) . Both D and I had dogs growing up and, well, it's becoming apparent that my crazy-neurosis-while-D-tours is out-weighing my dog allergy. I think E would love it. She spent a good chunk of time while we were in Phoenix tromping around with Buster, a black Lab, and it was heartbreaking; in a good way. And strangely enough she seems more at ease with larger dogs, so we've been pondering the issue. We would have come back home with Buster's sister, but the expense driving her up was crazy and I refuse to start a relationship with: "Hi you're going to be our new pet! Now let me give you an injection, so your sedated in the belly of a very loud airplane. See ya on the other side!"

Jen found this great website for me to peruse and I spent the better part of the weekend and into this week searching for our new best friend. One handsome fellow caught my eye, Tibbs. He's a Yellow Lab-Mastiff mix and gorgeous, but was adopted by morning. Alright. My next search brought me to the adorable 9-11 month Chocolate Lab, Star. But she disappeared off the website (hopefully her family located her and brought her home). So I'm taking a break. I get attached so easily and I haven't even met them yet. Land sakes!

9 Years Later

Wow, we've grown so much. We've been so many places. We've done so many things. It's nice to have someone that walks alongside you in life.

Happy 9th Anniversary Babe.
