Round and Round

Our good friend Oliver was in town this week with his dad, Ben. We sometimes get to video chat with them, but it's waaay better in person! The two toe heads are only 20 days apart, and get along so well. We only get to see him once or twice a year, so we packed in the fun with pizza, ice cream, wadding pools, cupcakes & playgrounds!

Ponyo

E and I had our Girl's Night again this evening, we saw Ponyo, and it was great! We grabbed our tickets, Skittles, and popcorn and settled into our seats for the flick (with the exception of 1 potty break in the middle).

Shake it Baby!

N is becoming a little more proficient each day at holding on to toys!

Art Camp

E's art skills have been sharpened this last week, one of the projects she completed at 'Mini Markers Art Camp' was a self portrait; I love it!

PLEZDO NOTUCH

E's been in an art class this week, where she was permitted to use a Sharpie on more than one occasion...we don't let her use them at home. Well on the way back into the house after playing in the backyard for a bit we noticed she was carrying one of our Sharpie's. D immediately asked where she had used it, "On Mama's Japanese Maple," and she showed me: "PLEZDO NOTOCH" (please do not touch). She might as well had written: 'don't write on the tree'

Salmon

My dad and brother caught 5 large salmon and we celebrated by having a cookout! And of course, because it's relatively rare that all 12 of us are actually present and accounted for there are lots of pictures to commemorate the occasion...

Weaving

I've been so thankful lately that we held a few of E's Christmas and Birthday presents back to keep her busy while I tend to N these days. She's been so proud of herself for figuring out this weaving project.

Punky Brewster

So, you just have to let things go to stay sane, right? Well, E got lucky and her favorite dress, socks, and bag were washed and clean. Slap on a few tattoos, add a headband and some brown butterfly shoes and we've got ourselves an outfit worth posing in.

S'More Please

We went over to my good friend Eileen's for some excellent food, conversation and play, and we ended the evening with a good 'ol fashioned marshmallow roast out in the garden...YUM!

2 Month Check-Up

There's nothing more encouraging than walking out of your child's well-exam after they've pretty much just gotten done patting you on the head saying "Your child is healthy, you're doing a good job."

He does, though, have a mild case of torticollis for which we'll possibly be seeing a specialist; he was a big guy in the womb and it caused his little head to bend over to the right. His muscles are tight and we've been working to loosen them up (tummy time, extra support in his carseat, and gentle stretching etc.) but would like to get some other ideas.
Current Stat's are:
weight - 16lbs. - 98%
height - 25 3/4" - 97%
head circumfrance - 17" - 96%

This is Halarious!

I took this series of photo's and didn't realize the true extent of their hilarity until I looked at them in sequence!

Di-Di-Di-Dive!

E learned how to dive in her lessons today!

Cousins

We went over to my brother's house for a little cousin playdate and a walk to a near by park this afternoon.

Maintaining Sanity

It's hard getting a shower in these days before 6pm, so I do what I can to multi-task.
It's equally hard to eat properly...in-season berries are making things a little easier.

Out and About

My confidence has been growing lately and I convinced myself that a trip to the zoo was a safe first "major" outing with both kids on my own. The weather was great and we had a nice time.

......................................................

This weekend also proved to be a nice time, we visited the Ballard spray/skateboard park where E practiced a bit of water ballet and N could be found under the umbrella perfecting his newly learned trick of guiding his hand to his mouth for some chomp-time.
