My Funny Little Valentine

E woke to find her Valentine present from us; a new pet Betta. She's been asking for a new one recently and they are much easier to keep than even goldfish. Mid-morning I whipped up some heart-shaped flapjacks, and later she was delighted to find that even her soccer practice was filled with Valentine themed games and such. The rest of the afternoon D chauffeured her around to the homes of many of her friends so she could hand deliver her cards and candy while I made a batch of cookies for her long awaited Valentine's Day sleepover tonight!

I Guess I'm a Soccer Mom...

Grandma and Grandpa were in town to see E in action for her first soccer class of the season. She's become so much more at ease with the sport and the whistles are now just part of the game, instead of bringing her to her knees in a puddle of tears. This non-competitive soccer organization is great, with enthusiastic coaches that really want to see the kids learn and succeed. It's not only setting these kids up with skills, but good sportsmanship that will absolutely benefit them in life.

PS Thanks for the new soccer cleats Grandma and Grandpa, they'll make a huge difference once those rainy muddy practices start...

Kidz Love Soccer!

E now has soccer practice for 30 minutes every Friday afternoon throughout most of the summer, and she does love it. (Note to self: put sunscreen on her and myself; came home a lobster). In classic E fashion she was extremely anxious that her head coach was a man, and had a few nervous/tearful bouts when he blew his whistle, startling her. But she quickly warmed up, turning shadow to the female assistant and ended up really having a great time, learned quite a bit, and found that a little girl from across the street is on her team.
