(sniff-sniff) We've had the woodstove going everyday for the last 2 weeks or so, can't wait to see how much of a dent it makes in our utility bill!
I just cut up a bunch of apples and a few pears, threw them into my stock pot with about 1 cup of water and simmered it on low for about 3 hours, used my "whir" machine (the one I used for making babyfood) added a bit of sugar and cinnamon and voila! I froze most of it.
oh yeah! i bet you are loving the wood stove. they really heat up a house. we put the one in the basement on a couple of times to try to dry it out down there. the boys thought it was so much fun. i want to get a bunch of wood for the upstairs fireplace (not a woodstove) to see if that can give off a good amount of heat too.
yum! i was thinking of making this, too, with all the apples we still have left. sweet picture.
ReplyDeletejust thinking of you tonight.... made some wassail and put a fire on. in fact, sipping it now as write to my dear friend. xxoo
