SAM Outdoors

We decided to get some fresh air, and walk through the Seattle Art Museum's Olympic Sculpture Park downtown. Small and large surprises were waiting for us around each corner. I particularly liked how these vibrantly red chairs played contrast to our gray day. Many of the instillation's are tucked alongside a winding pathway of flowers and foliage, so the contrast of shiny metal and concrete with nature was obvious. The family favorite though, I believe was the enormous curving and rusting iron panels slicing through a barren gravel floor. It reminded me of a shipyard; beauty long forgotten.

  1. such beautiful, vibrant photos of your family field trip. xo

  2. looks like a lovely day for all of you. we've been meaning to get to the sculpture park since its opening. perhaps this is the inspiration we need...
