Welcome Home!

I simply could not resist putting the new girls into our dollhouse this morning. It's probably because E and I just finished reading the greatest book, but we set up their brooder in our living room when we brought them home yesterday, and the dollhouse was just sitting there aching to be explored this morning. I may try and pop them in there in a week or so to gauge how much they're growing. Our most prominently featured gal has been prematurely named Clover as she is decidedly E's favorite (clearly the prettiest) and the name is leading in the polls by quite a substantial margin. The yellower of the two others is a Buff Orpington and has affectionately been named Daisy to go with our flora names. N has taken quite a fancy to her, so that leaves the white fuzzy unnamed sweetie all to myself!

We are excited to announce that we're expanding our chicken family today, and adding 3 new babies to the mix.  2 will be Araucana's and lay eggs with bluish or greenish shells (thus the 'green' names) We would like your help in naming them, please cast your vote in the poll located at the top of the collumn to the right.  Thanks, and the top 2 names will be announced one week from today!

Build it and He WIll...Play

I got N this super terrific build your own wooden trash truck for Christmas, and decided to put it together last night, with his help of course.  The thing was so much fun to assemble, he loves loading and dumping it over and over.

* I love Melissa and Doug toys, they may not be made in the US, but there is something to be said about 'no-batteries required.'  And I have never been treated so well by their staff in customer service.

Cousin Reel

I think I'm going to start an ongoing cousin reel here. Fairly often they all end up at my mom's house and it'd be fun to see how everyone changes. So here is the first 3, same kids, same couch, same order, on second thought, we'll just throw them up there and see if we can just get one where all 6 are in focus:

Spring Break - Day 3

The thought of taking another ferry ride this week wasn't really that appealing, but the weather was so great, and E wasn't going to let me back out this promised trip to Bainbridge Island. We grabbed Annie (her partner in crime) and made our way across the Puget Sound, again. We hit my favorite Blackbird Bakery, ran around 2 playgrounds, and stopped in at my favorite little feed store/nursery/cafe to check out the baby chicks and have lunch. It was a full day, but not overly exhausting and in the end I was glad we did it. These girls are connected at the hip, and were even requesting that I refer to them as sisters all day. They kept N endlessly entertained, and they're not shy in front of the camera either...

Kinda the Coolest Valentine Ever!

We got a mysterious envelope in the mail a few days ago from an unfamiliar address, with instructions to open on Valentines Day. Well, we'll be getting up extra early tomorrow morning for a flight, so we opened it today. Inside the padded envelope E and N received the world's smallest valentine from their friend Oliver (and a magnifying glass to read it)! Check this out!

Alma Mater

D's and my former high school (yes, we're high school sweethearts) and it's rival have been getting a little bit of notoriety this week. Their video production class's made competing 'lip-dub's' on YouTube.
